Lee Fitting's appointment as Kevin Dunn's de facto replacement in WWE has sparked discord within the company.

For PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson reports that Fitting's arrival in WWE has "made waves among those in the production and television departments." Some people "were not thrilled" at a perceived "outsider" entering the company and being positioned above them, expressing concern at what might happen should Fitting decide to bring in his own personnel at the expense of those already with WWE.

Others are taking a "wait and see" approach when it comes to the appointment. Elsewhere, there is a group of people disappointed that WWE didn't promote from within. Some believe Chris Kaiser, WWE's Executive Vice President of Television, deserved the promotion.

Fitting's WWE hiring is understood to have matched TKO Group's Marc Shapiro and WWE President Nick Khan's expectations for what's next in sports and entertainment.

Dunn ended his nearly 40-year WWE run on 1 January, resigning from his long-held position as Executive Vice President of Global Television Production.
