The Raw star told the pod that he "dealt with Vince McMahon directly" during talks. According to KO, McMahon "made it clear he wanted [Owens] to stay". That made things easier, and the pair managed to thrash out a deal "right then and there".

It was all rather painless, and didn't take very long.

Social media was abuzz with rumours that KO would jump over to AEW and join some of his old mates in Tony Khan's locker room, but that didn't happen. Apparently, it was never really going to - Owens is happy in WWE, and was thrilled that Vince was keen to sort things out so rapidly.

He said he's "really enjoying" WWE life at the moment, and isn't thinking about anything beyond his next couple of years in the promotion. Kevin also said that there are "ups and downs" to working for any wrestling company, including McMahon's operation.

Owens told Vince that he planned to "knock [the next few years] out of the park".
