Don't expect Kevin Owens to be back on WWE television anytime soon.

WWE have dedicated airtime to actively promoting the former Universal Champion's seemingly imminent return from injury (and the man himself has changed his Twitter named to "Soon...ish"), but it's expected that the company won't bring him back until after WrestleMania 35.

This is according to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, who writes that while KO will be cleared to come back "fairly soon," WWE have decided to hold off until April, rendering all those recent "Coming Soon" vignettes null. There's currently no word on when Owens' long-term frenemy, Sami Zayn, will make his own comeback.

Owens has been missing from television since October, with him and current Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley executing a double-turn on his last appearance. It was the first time KO had gone babyface since his NXT debut in 2014, but he hasn't been seen since, with double-knee surgery necessitating a lengthy absence.

This will understandably disappoint Owens' fans, but it's probably for the best. The surgery revealed a myriad of previously undiscovered knee issues, and while it'd be great to see him back ahead of schedule, exercising caution is the safer options.
