Killer Kross Reveals WWE Pitch To Bring Back Classic Attitude Era Faction
The two-time NXT Champion had talks about debuting his own spin on this famed stable.
During a recent appearance on The Ten Count from NBC Sports Boston, Killer Kross has revealed that there were talks about him relaunching the Corporate Ministry during his time on the WWE main roster.
As the two-time NXT Champion explained, he pitched this idea to the WWE creative time, with several writers on board with the concept. The only people Kross hadn't consulted about him leading a new iteration of this famed Attitude Era faction, were Vince McMahon and the Undertaker.
Via Fightful, Doomsday detailed:
“Yeah, I had ideas about bringing back The Corporate Ministry, it was one of my final ideas that I had and I had a series of writers on board with that who thought it was a very good idea. I had a bunch of people that I thought would be perfect for it. They were talking about creating potentially like a podium and some other props and stuff that have gone to other people, which is fine because they weren’t my ideas anyway. The props, they’ve been given to other people and it’s really cool how it’s coming off on TV. I thought pitching those ideas would be cool because there’s some nostalgia to it. You know, with all these crazy conspiracy theories that are always going around about esoteric businesses and stuff like that and cults, and evil companies and stuff like that, I thought there would be a tasteful way to fictionalize that type of stuff and put it back on TV with a nostalgic twist. The only people that I had not got a blessing from to do it would be like Taker and Vince, talking to them about it. I think I would have to have, of course I’d want them involved with it. They were the two evil guys that were from that, I thought that would have been cool to revisit, a concept of that.”
The Corporate Ministry was the coming together of the Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness and Shane McMahon's Corporation.
With both of those stables having been formed in 1998, the two joined forces in April of the following year. Consisting of the Phenom, Shane O'Mac, Triple H, Chyna, Big Boss Man, Bradshaw, Faarooq, Mideon, Viscera, Pete Gas, Rodney and Paul Bearer, the Corporate Ministry would also add Vince McMahon to its ranks when it was famously revealed VKM was the 'higher power' who Undertaker answered to.
After four months together, the Corporate Ministry would go their separate ways in August '99, and 'Taker would soon suffer the groin and pectoral injuries that would put him on the shelf ahead of returning at Judgment Day 2000 with his new American Badass persona.
