You really can't make this stuff up at this point.

WWE, the billion-dollar industry leader in sports entertainment, apparently can't make personnel decisions that last for even a month. Lacey Evans has been quietly moved back to the SmackDown roster page on WWE.com just weeks after she was moved over the Raw.

Evans has been out of action for more than a year due to her pregnancy and giving birth. Several weeks ago, a series of very raw and emotional vignettes began airing on SmackDown where Lacey talked earnestly about her upbringing and the challenges she faced with her family: addiction, abuse, poverty and a broken home. She talked about persevering through it all, seemingly poised for a heroine's welcome.

When she made an appearance, fans and critics began speculating that she was turning heel given the way the crowd was instructed to get up and show Evans the "proper respect" she deserved. But then she was suddenly transferred over to Raw, where the vignettes began re-airing, and she made another appearance.

WWE announced that Lacey would have her first match since February 2021 on this Monday's Raw, which would have been appropriate having the former Marine wrestle on Memorial Day. But the match never took place. Instead, clips were shown of Evans at NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 race over the weekend.

Maybe this is Evans' new gimmick: They'll keep showing videos of her talking about her challenging life, she'll keep brand-hopping every month and then fans will be so tired of her that they'll boo her out of the building despite the positive, inspirational videos WWE produced. Brilliant!
