Another week, another shoddy WWE attendance...

Much of last night's WWE Raw played out to minimal crowd reactions, and there's a good reason for that: huge portions of the 19,758-capacity PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania were taped off.

Per Hammer's email, the building's entire top tier was blacked out throughout the show, with the hard camera side's open sections looking extremely sparse as well.

It should be noted that the first image has Main Event assets on the LED screens. WWE's C-show tapes before Raw, so the building wouldn't probably wouldn't be close to capacity at that stage. Nonetheless, while this goes some way towards explaining the empty seats, it can't cover for the blacked-out sections.

WWE's live event attendances have been stuck in a downward spiral for a while now, with the recently released Q2 2019 financial results reporting another 2% domestic decline compared to Q2 2018. Amongst other things, Vince McMahon has previously blamed injured or otherwise absent stars for the fall, though his promotion haven't been able to stop the rot since the likes of Roman Reigns returned to TV.
