Serial pro wrestling headline-maker Tony Khan was at it again last week, using his regular spot on Busted Open Radio to state that he hoped to have a "massive" announcement ready at some stage this week.

Khan stated that while he was still working on it, it'd be a "big deal in pro wrestling" as a whole, not just AEW, adding that it won't be what many people expect.

In a Wrestling Observer Radio update, Dave Meltzer stated that this is unlikely to refer to another free agent signing. Instead, it is likely that Khan was talking about a business deal.

That speculation immediately turned to potential roster acquisitions is understandable, given Khan and AEW's propensity for big-time signings, though it would be difficult for America's second-biggest promotion to pull off a signing that'd be considered a "big deal" across the sport at the moment. Realistically, that'd need to be someone on the CM Punk/Bryan Danielson tier - and that level of free agent doesn't currently exist.

Keith Lee and AQA both joined AEW earlier this month, having debuted on the 9 February episode of Dynamite. They stand as the promotion's latest signings.
