Edge turned heel on last night's episode of WWE Raw, blasting AJ Styles with a Con-Chair-To shortly after the former TNA and NJPW star had accepted his WrestleMania 38 challenge.

This went down in a follow-up to last week, when Edge hit the ring, teasing multiple potential opponents for 'Mania. His use of the word "Phenomenal" heightened speculation linking him to a match with Styles that has existed pretty much since Edge returned at Royal Rumble 2020. Last night, the veteran was desperate for someone to stand up and wrestle him on 2/3 April - with AJ finally answering the call.

Although Edge said he'd wanted this match for a long time, he cut AJ down by saying he wanted the bulldog version of Styles, not Omos' bitch. He then extended a hand to AJ but put him down before the shake, battering his new 'Mania opponent, dodging a Phenomenal Forearm, low-blowing him, and ultimately nailing the Con-Chair-To.

The turn appeared to be well-received in the building, where fans jeered Edge. Now, the match is set with a strong face/heel dynamic.

This is the first time Edge has played the villain since coming back to wrestling over two years ago. His hero's journey is finally over and now, he slots back into an alignment that has traditionally brought him greater success in WWE.
