Marko Stunt To Leave AEW, Budget Cuts & Large Roster Cited As Reasons

Marko Stunt will leave All Elite Wrestling when his contract expires in May, reports Fightful Select.
The former Jurassic Express member learned this last week, when he received a call from AEW Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels. Budget cuts and the company's large roster were given as the reasons behind AEW's decision not to renew Stunt's contract.
Stunt, who hasn't been on AEW programming since September 2021, was also told of a change of plans for Jurassic Express.
The 25-year-old had unfortunately been sidelined by a concussion in October. Without providing a reason, AEW didn't book Marko again after this, though he had contacted the company in an effort to get booked and prove himself worthy of a contract renewal. Obviously, this didn't happen, though the split has been described as amicable.
Stunt tweeted the following shortly after the story broke:-
Also, I’m good btw

An AEW wrestler since May 2019, when he debuted at the original Double Or Nothing pay-per-view, Stunt found traction alongside Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus in Jurassic Express, though he was never a focused singles act. Recent months had seen him become the subject of sporadic speculation on his future, particularly earlier this month, when fellow outgoing AEW wrestler Joey Janela alleged that the promotion had effectively ghosted him.
