Scurll's name has been removed from ROH's official roster page (along with Dan Maff) and while PWInsider have reported that there is currently no word on his status with the company, they state he hasn't occupied his creative role in months. ROH was put on ice at the onset of the global health crisis but resumed taping in Baltimore, Maryland in September, though Scurll hasn't been brought to these recording sessions.

June's #SpeakingOut movement saw Scurll accused of sexual assault when a woman alleged he had taken advantage of her intoxicated state in 2015. She was just 16 years old at the time, and Scurll later released a statement claiming that he "truly believed that the encounter that evening was consensual." Ring of Honor began an internal investigation into the allegations in late June, though there's no word on whether or not these changes are a result of that.

Scurll has been working with ROH since August 2016. He ascended to a position of power in January 2020, scoring a lucrative multi-year deal that reportedly saw him become the group's head booker.
