Matt And Jeff Hardy Leaving TNA
Will they head to a new Universe?
In an update to an earlier article, it now appears that Matt and Jeff Hardy are on their way out of TNA.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported that unless "major changes" happen within the next two days then the brothers are done with the promotion. This is a bit of a surprise, as they had verbally agreed to new deals late last year. However, due to new management taking over they didn't receive their contracts until a couple of weeks ago, and apparently there were some changes they didn't agree with.
It's believed that Matt would no longer have the same level of creative control under his new deal, so it's likely his Broken Universe angle would have been dialed down a bit.
It seems that TNA did try to keep them on board and offered Matt and Jeff a lot of money, but it sounds like the brothers are ready to move on. It's not clear whether they'll stick around for the next set up tapings to drop their titles.
This is really bad news for Impact. Drew Galloway could have been their top babyface had they positioned him right over the past couple years, and The Hardys were their most popular act. The company is once again going back into rebuilding mode, but they just lost three of their best talents over the course of two days.
Jeff Jarrett, Scott D'Amore and Dutch Mantell certainly have their work cut out for them if they're going to create any sort of positive buzz in the near future.
