Matt Riddle Wants WWE Stable With These 2 SmackDown Stars
Riddle talks up Catch Point 2.0 in WWE.
Matt Riddle has hit social media to talk up the prospect of forming a SmackDown stable with Drew Gulak and Daniel Bryan.
'The Original Bro' tweeted the following on Sunday:-
It's an interesting proposition, not only because we're talking about three of the best technical wrestlers in the promotion, but also for the history between Gulak and Riddle in EVOLVE.
Catch Point were together from 2015 to 2018, personifying EVOLVE's mat-based style of wrestling at the time. A group of nasty, aggressive shooters, Gulak was the stable's leader, describing it as "a philosophy, the idea is to isolate your opponent's weaknesses."
The likes of Tracy Williams, Fred Yehi, and TJ Perkins were part of the group, with Riddle's induction leading to the tensions that would eventually accelerate Gulak's split from his allies. The duo met in a stiff EVOLVE 51 encounter back in November 2015 then again in NXT just over three years later, with Riddle overcoming Gulak on both occasions. Their last singles match went down on the EVOLVE 10th Anniversary Show that aired on WWE Network last July.
Riddle and Bryan, meanwhile, have never crossed paths.
Either way, it's a great stylistic fit - even if Riddle is probably just messing around here. He debuts on next week's SmackDown.
