Mickie James Wants To Wrestle THIS AEW Star
Fresh off gatecrashing WWE, Mickie James fancies opening AEW's "forbidden door".
Mickie James would love a match with Britt Baker.
The Impact star, who recently opened wrestling's trendy "forbidden door" for a brief WWE return at the 2022 Royal Rumble, told 'Women's Wrestling Talk' that she's been impressed by how the reigning AEW Women's Champion has been "kicking down doors" and "carving her own path" recently.
James isn't so sure that wrestling fans would be expecting her to work an Impact vs. AEW 'Champ vs. Champ' bout either. That's another reason to do it, and it's why she views the thought as exciting; Mickie might not think anyone would see it coming, but the "forbidden door" gimmick has lost a bit of magic lately.
In other words, few fans would be truly shocked if Mickie was announced for a bout with Britt soon.
James told the podcast that she's started talking to Baker here or there. They get on, and she can already tell they'd have some chemistry inside the ring. So, if Tony Khan is up for it and Impact are happy to loan her again, then Mickie would jump at the chance to work vs. Britt.
