Miro completed what was effectively a soft gimmick change on last night's AEW Dynamite, debuting new entrance music and a new nickname one week after rechristening himself 'God's Favourite Champion'.

Last Saturday's episode of Dynamite saw the TNT Champion cut a foreboding opponent on Brian Pillman Jr., whom he faced last night, claiming he was now fighting with God on his side without going too far on the religious themes.

Things went up another level last night. Dropping the last vestiges of his old 'Best Man' character, Miro's old, synth-driven metal theme was gone, replaced by one composed of booming war horns and epic strings. It sounds like a prelude to the end of the world - and you can listen to it here.

Miro's new nickname, 'The Redeemer', was emblazoned across the big screen as he made his way out. In the character's own mind, this heightens the religious theme by putting him on the same level as Jesus Christ.

A short, brutish match followed, with Miro surviving a spirited Pillman Jr. comeback to put him to sleep in quick, decisive fashion, retaining the TNT Championship in the process. Miro has now held the strap for 50 days, with BPJ his fourth successful defence.
