MJF hyped 'The Bidding War of 2024' again on last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, name-dropping top WWE executives Nick Khan and Paul 'Triple H' Levesque as the build towards a tug of war for his prodigious pro wrestling talents continues.

The references came in MJF's first in-ring segment since becoming AEW World Champion at Full Gear 2022. Khan was referred to as "jolly old Saint Nick" and Levesque as "Trips", with MJF suggesting, once again, that when his AEW contract is up, he may jump ship to WWE.

A couple of lines later, MJF teased moving into Hollywood once his time in AEW is done. Either way, he wanted viewers to know that he is going to become a very, very well-paid man in his next round of negotiations.

Before returning to AEW at All Out 2022, having taken time away from the promotion in the midst of a contract dispute, MJF was bound to a contract due to expire in January 2024. Whether or not this is still the case is unconfirmed, though he is understood to have negotiated a significant pay rise with AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan during his time away from the company. While it is unlikely that this raise would have come without an extension, it is not completely out of the question.

MJF has been playing up 'The Bidding War of 2024' since before the aforementioned contract dispute saw him talent off television in June. Expect him to keep doing so for at least the next 12 months.
