MJF REALLY Wants You To Think He's Going To WWE
Is a steak dinner with Happy Corbin the next step towards "the bidding war of 2024" for AEW's MJF?
MJF's broad flirtations with WWE continued this weekend, as the AEW star engaged in a brief back-and-forth with SmackDown's Happy Corbin.
It began with MJF tweeting that he was considering upping his price at a signing session in Albany, New York. Corbin responded with a Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson gif, so MJF dropped the following:-
When are we going out for steak?!?

A few hours later, Corbin came back with his preferences:-
Anytime but we will have to rent the place out so peasant’s can’t bother us.

This feeds into one of MJF's ongoing storylines in AEW - what he refers to as "the great bidding war of 2024." The 25-year-old has been selling the idea that he will play AEW and WWE against each other in negotiations since last year's revelation that his current contract expires in 2024. This is almost certainly part of that.
MJF has referred to the "bidding war" several times on AEW television, including on last week's episode of AEW Dynamite. Ripping CM Punk for never headlining a WrestleMania, MJF teased jumping ship to WWE to do that himself.
AEW is yet to officially announce the big Punk vs. MJF match, though it feels like an inevitability. Punk will face MJF's muscle, Wardlow, on this week's Dynamite.
