Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some more updates on the barmy Brock Lesnar walkout that went down before last week's SmackDown tapings.

Hot on the heels of now-former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon taking to Twitter and announcing his retirement from the industry last Friday, The Beast Incarnate was said to have headed straight for the door on the back of news of this shocking turn of events reaching his ears.

Meltzer would also add that, while most of the details were being kept understandably confidential at this time, Lesnar only returned to the blue show at 8:30 p.m., over seven hours on from his initial storming out.

With it being stated by one of Dave's sources that one of the company's biggest stars walking out in the immediate aftermath of Vince's exit would've sent out "a terrible public message" and fuelled the perception of the post-McMahon era of the company being "in chaos", WWE went out of their way and "made a deal" with Lesnar to get him back.

Details on what exactly went into said deal haven't been made known and it's still not clear as to precisely why Lesnar left in the first place, with it also being suggested that it could've just been “brilliant business on his part” after assessing this fresh landscape.

It was also said that alternative plans were formulated on the off chance Lesnar couldn't be convinced to return, with a few names even being pitched to replace him in his bout against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

Lastly, after finally rocking back up on the show and obliterating Theory, Dave would reveal “he seemed very happy,” hinting at the deal WWE had come to agree on with the former UFC Heavyweight Champion being one that entirely satisfied The Beast.
