Mr. Anderson Talks TNA's Future, Sting Leaving, 6 Sided Ring
Mr. Anderson speaks on a variety of subjects during a rough patch for TNA.
CBS New York this week, as Anderson helped to promote the next set of TNA Impact tapings at the Manhattan Center. TNA recently made major changes, going back to their roots by bringing back the signature six-sided ring in which helped them identify themselves during their developmental years. Many TNA stars, namely Austin Aries and Ethan Carter III publicly spoke about their dismay as it pertained to the ring. Several wrestlers have commented in the past that the six sided ring is much harder than a traditional ring, and creates an awkward angle when using the top rope. As far as I know (wrestlers) didnt have any. As far as I know that was strictly an organizational thing. You know, the higher ups in the company going off of the fans vote on it. I believe that was completely out of our hands. I had no say in it as far as I know," Anderson said. Mr. Anderson, who made a name for himself in the WWE as Mr. Kennedy, also spoke about Sting's defection to WWE, after being with TNA for almost 8 years. He said that Sting didn't seem to notify anyone within the company about the move: No, he didnt make any mention. This is the nature of our business. The wrestling business people come and people go. Its sort of been that way forever," Anderson told CBS. TNA's next tapings at the Manhattan Center are scheduled for August 5-7, and will cover their television shows through at least the end of August. Following the tapings, TNA has three sets of house show loops set, going into September, with nothing else listed as scheduled on their website. It remains to be seen if TNA will continue running live events in the case that they don't land on another network.
