Fightful Select has corroborated last week's report from The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer that WWE and MLW officials have held preliminary discussions regarding a potential talent-sharing agreement.

Meltzer had reported that WWE dislikes its reputation for not wanting to collaborate with other promotions, leading to them approaching MLW over a deal that would see them sending developmental wrestlers who aren't regularly on television to the Court Bauer-helmed group, getting them work.

Per Fightful Select, the talks go "high up" the WWE food chain and NXT roster members hadn't been filled on in the situation, not learning of it until Meltzer's report emerged in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Every other major American wrestling promotion is currently locked into at least one working deal with another company, the biggest of these being AEW's links to IMPACT Wrestling, NJPW, and AAA. The original report stated that WWE doesn't want to be seen as old, uncooperative, and stuck in its ways while others are opening up.

Whether or not anything comes of these talks remains to be seen, though WWE's decades-long history of not playing well with others suggests caution should be exercised.
