Last night's Slammiversary XV pay-per-view said goodbye to Impact, and hello to Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling, who were acquired by the promotion on June 28th. The show closed with two title unification matches pitting the two companies' top champions against each other, with Impact's title-holders falling in both.

Bobby Lashley defended his Impact World Heavyweight Title against GFW Global Champion Alberto El Patron in the main event, but fell in just under 20 minutes. In victory, El Patron becomes the unified Impact and Global Force Champion, though there's no word on what the title will be named going forward.

Similarly, GFW Women's Champion Sienna defeated Rosemary, the Impact Women's Knockout Champion, to unify those belts in the second last match.

The GFW titles started appearing on Impact television in April, when previous champions Nick Aldis and Christina Von Eerie lost to last night's big winners. Both had held the belts for over 500 days, but GFW has been largely dormant as a promotion for a while, with their last solo event coming in July 2016. Impact/GFW's latest run of TV tapings starts tonight, and should shed light on the future of these championships.
