Speaking on Konnan's Keepin It 100 podcast, 'The National Treasure' said that the first thing he asked Khan was whether or not he'd be able to keep working with the NWA while under AEW contract, through the AEW President wanted exclusivity. Aldis added that "if the money was right, I would have had to go," saying that while AEW made him "a fine offer" comparable to what he already made in Billy Corgan's organisation at the time, it wasn't "too good to be true."

Thus, Nick remains with the NWA.

Aldis praised Khan for his professionalism, said he appreciated the conversation, and added that "it's nice to be desired."

Aldis has drawn widespread acclaim for his work with the NWA. He has been Worlds Heavyweight Champion for 733 days at the time of publication and is an exemplary performer on Powerrr, evoking the spirit of classic NWA Champions like Ric Flair and Harley Race. Powerrr is yet to restart through the ongoing global health crisis, though Nick recently defended his belt against Mike Bennett for the UWN.
