Billy Corgan could be on the verge of shutting the National Wrestling Alliance down.

This is the word of wrestling legend Raven, who spoke about the subject during a recent interview with The Hannibal TV's Devon Nicholson. When asked if he'd consider working under Corgan in the NWA, Raven said that he had heard the Smashing Pumpkins frontman was "shutting it down," adding "I heard Billy's not opening it back up, he's really disillusioned."

Raven has close ties to Corgan from their time working together with the old Resistance Pro Wrestling group.

Recent events have hit the NWA harder than most promotions. The ongoing global health crisis means they haven't been able to run a live event since 26 January, though they kept produced alternative YouTube content up until a few weeks ago. This ceased when Dave Lagana, a company executive, was implicated during the #SpeakingOut movement, prompting his resignation.

The NWA faces a major rebuilding job if it survives, with talent seemingly streaming out the door as well. Ricky Starks has already jumped to AEW, Zicky Dice has requested his release after being offered $250/month to renew, and Women's Champion Thunder Rosa is teasing AEW too. Lagana will be the toughest to replace, but the roster could look very patchy, very soon.
