NXT Great American Bash Defeats AEW Fyter Fest In Overall Viewership
AEW secures victory in all-important key demographics.
NXT Great American Bash defeated AEW Fyter Fest in the week one battle for overall viewership by a score of 792,000 to 748,000.
There is, as ever, more to the data than the surface reading - but the trends are very positive for an NXT brand that is very much on the rebound. That is the theme of the week, in essence.
AEW recaptured a strong percentage of the audience that deserted last week's show, which was stronger on build than in-ring spectacle, growing its audience by over 100,000. NXT meanwhile also made gains; while only to the number of 6,000, which on its own terms might be considered a slight disappointment, given that the Great American Bash functioned ostensibly as a PPV-calibre event, it's consistent with an encouraging pattern, nonetheless: it's the third consecutive week in which NXT has maintained viewership in the 700,000 range, and the second consecutive overall viewership ratings win.
Time now for the excuses/reading of data that advertisers and networks consider most important, depending on one's perspective: AEW once more won all key demographics with the long-time exception of the 50+ crowd.
NXT won overall viewership and the beyond fatiguing perception battle; TNT is happier with the result than USA.
