New SmackDown star Cameron Grimes is reportedly heading for a major push on the blue brand post-WWE Draft.

WRKD Wrestling on Twitter claims Triple H is very high on the former NXT man, and hopes to turn him into a main roster success story everybody can be proud of. Hunter isn't alone though - several other members of upper management have been impressed by Grimes' physical transformation and his banter-filled performances in developmental for years now.

Cameron made his SmackDown debut on last night's 'go home' episode before Backlash. He appeared in a backstage segment with default authority figure Adam Pearce and Baron Corbin. The latter called Grimes "Mr. Irrelevant", then the pair set up a match against one another for next week.

It'd be a huge surprise if Grimes didn't come out on the winning side.

The ex-NXT North American and Million Dollar Champion came across well during his introductory skit. He's comfortable on promos in-ring or backstage in pre-tapes, and that's something WWE's creative team will find rather handy.

Look out for Cam's debut match on next week's SmackDown, and brace yourselves for a Grimes overload on TV soon.
