An official Orlando bid to host WWE WrestleMania 33 has been made. Confirming the bid, Heather Fagan - deputy chief of staff for Mayor Buddy Dyer - spoke to the Orlando Sentinel to reveal that the city are awaiting to hear back from WWE as to whether they have been successful:
"We have not received any notification and are waiting to hear just like other cities."
PWInsider reported last week that Orlando is high on the potential list of hosts, and there has been significant development in the logistics of returning WrestleMania to Florida. Given the sudden increased talk of WrestleMania 33 and Orlando, there has to be a very good chance that next year's event will indeed be heading back to the Citrus Bowl. The stadium hosted 74,635 WWE fans in 2008 for WrestleMania, in what was considered a very successful show It would also be a popular decision with WWE fans. WrestleMania is like a holiday for the large number of fans who fly in, so of course Florida is going to be one of the best locations for tourists. The state is well served with flights and hotels, there's good weather, there's beaches, and of course there are all the theme parks.
