Paige Teases WWE Return After This Week's SmackDown
Could Paige follow in Edge and Daniel Bryan's footsteps and make a WWE return?
Last night saw Paige tease a return to the ring after the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.
With WWE producing a segment on Friday's episode of the blue show involving Edge and Daniel Bryan, both stars who have laughed in the face of career-ending injuries, going back and forth backstage, another star forced into an early retirement took this moment to reveal her hopes for the future.
Retweeting a WWE on FOX post captioned "Retirement" with both Bryan and Edge mid-chat, Paige added the statement "(Fingers crossed emoji) one day".
Paige hasn't performed in a WWE ring since injuring her neck during a December 2017 house show, taking up various other on-air personality roles such as being the General Manager of SmackDown and managing the Kabuki Warriors. The former Divas Champion has also regularly appeared on WWE Backstage alongside Renee Young/Paquette, Booker T and, occasionally, CM Punk.
There were rumours of Paige potentially returning to action in January 2020. However, those reports ultimately turned out to not be true as she has still yet to return to the company in a wrestling capacity.
Could the returns of Edge, Bryan, and more recently Christian open the door for Paige to pursue a highly anticipated comeback to wrestling? You would've likely claimed this was impossible a few years ago, but the aforementioned names have proven that anything is possible in this business...
