As per Squared Circle Sirens' Casey Michael, the third wheel of NXT's announce team Percy Watson has suddenly called it quits in the company, with the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer confirming the story.

Though there is nothing like an official announcement at present, it has been reported that Watson has lost interest in pro wrestling and now wishes to pursue a career in acting. Best of luck to him in that.

Watson, 37, was initially signed on a WWE developmental deal in 2009, appearing in the second season of NXT under the tutelage of MVP. During his brief career in the ring, he was notable for his bright red specs - which he sometimes compete in - and not a great deal besides.

In May 2013, Watson was let go from the company and embarked on a brief independent run before being unexpectedly drafted back to Full Sail as part of a reconfigured announce team. For the past few years, he has regularly sat in almost complete silence, drowned out by the 'exuberance' of broadcast colleague Mauro Ranallo and upstaged by the competence of fellow analyst Nigel McGuinness.

We wish Watson all the best in his future endeavours.
