Ratings Decrease For This Week's WWE Friday Night SmackDown

Not even 'Da Man' could keep the numbers up for the blue brand.

Last night's Friday Night SmackDown on Fox managed to rope in an average of 2.563 million viewers, which was a decrease from last week's first no-crowd edition of the show, according to Showbuzz Daily.

With SmackDown emanating from the Performance Center for a second week in a row - due to the current global situation - the blue brand made the most of the lack of audience by adding pre-recorded segments to the show, like Miz & Morrison's brilliant string of tag team impressions.

Yet, not even appearances from Goldberg, Roman Reigns, Paige and a full replay of the John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt WrestleMania XXX match could stop SmackDown's rating dropping this week, with last week's iteration boasting a 2.588 million viewer average.

A 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic was still fairly positive, however.

Whether SmackDown will be able to maintain these relatively strong ratings over the next few weeks - with all shows seemingly having to air from the PC for the foreseeable future - is yet to be seen.

It must be noted also that WWE are preparing for the worst and have already started to film multiple episodes of Raw and SmackDown in a bid to make sure that they have consistent programming in place for the lead up to their two night WrestleMania 36 event.
