Real Reason AJ Styles Vs. Omos Didn't Happen On Last Night's WWE Raw
Why did AJ Styles end up wrestling Apollo on last night's WWE Raw instead of Omos?
AJ Styles vs. Omos was originally set to go down on Raw last night, but The Phenomenal One took on Apollo instead.
Despite WWE opting to continue building towards a showdown between the allies-turned-enemies with a video package dedicated to their break-up this week, Omos was nowhere to be seen on the night. It's now been revealed that Omos wasn't actually in attendance last night, with PWInsider noting that Styles' former partner had been sent home from the Little Caesers Arena in Detroit earlier in the day, flying back home from Detroit before Raw got under way.
It's worth mentioning that Omos did in fact wrestle on Sunday night, taking on Styles in a match inside of Madison Square Garden, losing via DQ at the live event.
It did look like Styles was set to throw down with Commander Azeez as Raw went to commercial break, but it was actually Apollo in the ring when we returned to the show. Far from finished with the former WWE Champion post-defeat to Styles on Raw, Apollo quickly took to Twitter as he proposed a rematch.

As of writing, it's not known whether Omos' absence is related to COVID or not, and it also isn't clear when WWE plan on having the two bitter enemies duke it out in the squared-circle.
NXT 2.0's Grayson Waller made his presence known on Raw last night too, continuing his burgeoning rivalry with Styles by showing up on the red brand and very nearly getting physical with The Phenomenal One once it became clear that Omos wasn't in the arena.
Between Omos, Apollo, Zeez, and Waller, it's fair to say AJ has quite a bit on his plate coming into 2022...
