Real Reason WWE Fired Miro
"I lashed out. It was just so much over the years."
Speaking on the new episode of Talk is Jericho, AEW's Miro went into detail on the circumstances of his WWE release earlier this year, stating his belief that a covert talent meeting on WWE's handling of the ongoing global health crisis led to him being let go.
"I was getting some of the boys around because we weren't okay with how everybody was treated in the pandemic situation," he said. "We felt scared to go to work. It was probably 10 of us talking and somebody leaked it to the office and to the dirt sheets, and once that happened, I knew right away they were going to fire me. They were going to blame it on me of course, because I'm the guy."
"They fired me," Miro added. "I lashed out because I think we're on the path of doing something good, because I want to protect the boys and girls. That didn't work out, and that's why I felt like they cut me underneath. I was just so angry, man."
The former Rusev described "lashing out" at WWE Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carano for five minutes upon calling him. "There was just so much," Miro said. "It was just so much over the years."
Let go by WWE on 15 April, Miro teased stepping away from wrestling to focus on Twitch streaming during his inactive period. His AEW debut then came on the 9 September episode of Dynamite.
