Fandango freely admits that he didn't work as hard as he could've done when he was promoted to WWE's main roster.

The former NXT star, who played a dancing gimmick for years on Raw and SmackDown, told Chris Van Vliet's 'Insight' show that he takes "full accountability" for reaching the big time and then "kind of letting up". When explaining why, the artist now-known as Dirty Dango said he viewed himself as "Vince [McMahon's] little pet".

He thought that relationship with the boss meant he could take it a little easier.

This mindset all started when the guy suffered a concussion during a house show match with The Great Khali - Dango hid that injury from WWE, but they found out after a similar incident with Zack Ryder. That's when the dancer revealed his secret, and WWE were horrified.

They took him off the road, and that dented Fandango's confidence. Worse, he'd been in line to win the Intercontinental Title before being benched. Instead of bagging that belt, he watched as Curtis Axel got the nod instead.

"I kind of got there, I thought I was in. I let up", he added.
