Released WWE Women's Star Says She Was "Ruthless" Backstage
WWE's creative team couldn't move for this "ruthless" (now released) former women's star.
Released ex-WWE star Chelsea Green says she was "in their ears every week" with ideas.
Green told Chris Van Vliet's 'Insight' podcast that she always made sure to turn up for shows ready - that extended to cards Chelsea wasn't even booked on. She'd heard from some others, including Lance Storm, that always being available would help her out in the company long term.
The former NXT worker described herself as "ruthless", and admitted that she'd often fire out emails to members of WWE's creative team with suggestions about how she could be used. One time, Green even messaged the writers saying, "I would be the perfect post-'Mania debut. I’m your girl".
WWE rarely listened, which must've been frustrating.
Green also told creative that she didn't necessarily need to wrestle for fans to "hear me and see me". She was perfectly content to cut promos, film vignettes or do anything else she could to tell a story. Somehow, such enthusiasm wasn't enough for the promotion's power-brokers.
Chelsea did debut on SmackDown's 13 November 2020 episode, but broke her wrist during a fatal-four-way qualifier for Survivor Series. She was never seen on TV again.
