A new report from Fightful Select has stated that an upcoming title bout in IMPACT Wrestling reportedly garnered a ton of buzz from those watching backstage.

Taped at the recent set of IMPACT television tapings, the report states that an impending X Division Championship match lasted a whole hour, although the participants weren't revealed to Fightful. Josh Alexander will, of course, be involved as the current champion.

'The Walking Weapon' captured the title from Ace Austin in a three-way bout at April's Rebellion pay-per-view, a match also involving TJP. Thus far, he's had successful defences in cracking outings vs. Austin and, most recently, New Japan's El Phantasmo. The former North man currently has no title defences confirmed at the time of writing, although he's likely to defend the strap at the 12 June Against All Odds special on IMPACT Plus.

For what it's worth, the longest IMPACT-promoted X Division Championship bout currently on record is AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels from the 2005 Against All Odds pay-per-view. They went 31 minutes and 42 seconds, going overtime in a 30-minute Iron Man match.

Alexander is currently set for a tag team bout on this Thursday's IMPACT episode, teaming with Petey Williams against TJP and Fallah Bahh.
