Report: WWE Happy With NXT "Buzz" Generated From Main Event
Recent NXT forays into WWE's main roster tapings have gone well...
WWE's recent trial runs for NXT talents on Main Event appear to be producing the desired results.
Fightful Select notes that people within the promotion are "very happy" with the buzz that developmental wrestlers crossing over to Main Event have been able to generate not only for themselves, but the show as well.
Barely a Monday passes without WWE bringing up at least one or two NXT talents to compete on Main Event. Traditionally regarded among WWE's least essential shows, Main Event is taped around the live Raw show on Monday nights, though the prospect of seeing developmental wrestlers mixing it up with more established Raw/SmackDown talents theoretically provides extra incentive to watch.
This week's Main Event tapings saw Andre Chase and Axiom step up, facing Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali respectively. Former AEW star and recent WWE tryout Kylie Rae worked last week's show as Briana Ray.
Fightful had reported earlier this month that NXT wrestlers appearing on Main Event doesn't necessarily mean a call-up is imminent. Instead, WWE see it as a chance to get a look at wrestlers in a different environment to the Performance Center, where the developmental show is taped every week.
