WWE is currently prioritising attempts to sign a "much bigger" wrestling free agent that 'Switchblade' Jay White, reports Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

White stands out amongst the names currently on the market. Last week saw the New Zealander drop a 'Loser Leaves Japan' match to former Bullet Club stablemate Hikuleo. Amidst reports White is headed for pastures new, his match with Eddie Kingston on tomorrow's NJPW 'Battle in the Valley' show is now being billed as 'Loser Leaves NJPW.'

On WWE as a potential landing spot for White, Meltzer reports that people within the company, who would typically know of major WrestleMania season acquisitions, don't know about the situation. Those sources claimed that the promotion is more focused on a "much bigger major free agent in play right now."

Who that "much bigger major free agent" could be is anyone's guess. Speculative tongues will wag nonetheless.

Beyond WWE, White has also been linked with AEW, where he has previously appeared as part of NJPW's working relationship with the Tony Khan-helmed group. That there might be a bigger name currently available to sign at the moment is an exciting prospect.
