WWE took last-minute planning to the extreme with last night's episode of Raw, having failed to inform their performers of what they'd be doing on the show until less than three hours before bell time.

The last-minute scramble to put Raw together is so widely accepted that it barely qualifies as news anymore, though this report takes it to a new level. Creative organisation, it seems, is not one of WWE's strong suits in 2020.

Recent weeks have been rough for WWE's former flagship show. Last week's episode was widely regarded as one of the year's worst, with storylines like RETRIBUTION's meek takeover and the Mysterio family melodrama drawing largely negative critical responses, though the show held steady against NFL competition. Last night saw Raw going up against Monday Night Football and an important Stanley Cup game in the NHL.

WWE's overall viewership has struggled greatly since the onset of the global health crisis, with Raw hitting its lowest viewership ever on more than one occasion. SmackDown has at least maintained a semblance of consistency around the 2 million mark.
