WWE's maligned RETRIBUTION stable appeared to split up on last night's Fastlane 2021 Kickoff Show, as Mace and T-Bar attacked leader Mustafa Ali, who failed to capture the United States Championship from Riddle.

Ali lost to Riddle in a competitive bout that saw him at a second-rope Bro Derek for the pinfall. Though RETRIBUTION attempted to assist Ali afterwards, the former 205 Live man continued his recent theme of admonishing the group in public, leading to Reckoning and Slapjack leaving the ring.

This left Mustafa alone in the squared circle with Mace and T-Bar, RETRIBUTION's two biggest, beefiest boys. The former Dio Maddin and Dominik Dijakovic decided they'd had enough, hitting Ali with a double Chokeslam before leaving the ring.

The angle played out hours after a Fightful Select reported stating a "high-level" WWE pitch had been made for Ali and co. In addition, PWInsider's Mike Johnson claimed to have been told RETRIBUTION would be splitting "soon."

RETRIBUTION has struggled since forming in August 2020, their phoney rebellion limited to petty acts like putting bricks through windows, sabotaging generators, and messing with the arena lights. Ali's instalment as leader in October offered hope of recovery, though a deeply-rooted losing habit and inconsistent presentation continued to hamper them.
