Ric Flair Criticises Mick Foley For Recent WWE Comments

From one Hall of Famer to another...

By Brad Hamilton /

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley made headlines last week when he openly criticised WWE via his social media platforms for their booking as of late, and followed that up with an appearance on The Steve Austin Show where the two former superstars discussed the business and aired their grievances with the current product. The Hardcore Legend even went so far as to suggest that he may be nearing the end of his WWE fandom with a post entitled €œFinal Raw for Foley?€ but then backed off on those comments the following week when he said WWE responded by giving him a reason to keep watching. Shortly after, it was revealed that Foley€™s son, Dewey had landed a job with the company where he will be working in the creative department. This left many accusing Mick of reversing his position so as not to make waves for his son. Now you can add Ric Flair to the list of people who€™ve been outspoken regarding Foley and his harsh criticism. During a Q & A session on his WOOOOOO! Nation podcast, Flair had this to say regarding the issue:

€œThe problem I have is not there. Like, to me, Mick has become a Monday morning quarterback. He€™s only observing what he€™s watching on TV. Do you know what I mean? And I don€™t think it€™s fair to the company to be ostracized or scrutinized by someone that€™s not there€€™s just saying €˜this can happen€™, but if not there on top of it, watching it take place or unfold or come together, whatever the terminology would be, it€™s just hard for me to understand how you sit back and critique it.€
Flair is obviously not an unbiased source in this scenario since by his own admission he€™s very close with Triple H, Stephanie and Vince McMahon, and even more importantly his daughter, Charlotte is the current divas champion. Still, it€™s interesting to note how opinions differ between two of the industry€™s all-time greats. Who do you side with? Is Mick Foley correct in the criticisms he€™s leveled at WWE or does Ric Flair have a point calling him a €œMonday morning quarterback€?
