AEW fans were all secretly hoping the former ECW and WWE Champion would be the surprise addition to the Face of the Revolution match at this year's Revolution PPV in March. However, it was eventually revealed that Ethan Page was the mystery man the company had been hyping beforehand.

When discussing if he could see himself working in Tony Khan's company at some point going forward, the 'One of a Kind' star admitted that he does sometimes tune into the All Elite show, but that he isn't desperate to return to in-ring action and appear for the promotion:

“I just always go with the flow of the universe. I’m always very happy with the way things turn out. AEW, I watch it sometimes, mostly to help Katie Forbes out. She’ll watch it, she’s up-and-coming, learning and I’ll point stuff out. There is nothing that interests me about going there, except for business.”

On the back of this, RVD also noted that, if the right business opportunity didn't come along, he may well be done with wrestling altogether, and if that is the case he is more than ready for the next stage of his career:

“There is nothing that makes me want to wrestle, except for business. Where a fan thinks maybe I would watch TV and dream of getting in the ring with someone, as if that’s my fantasy. That’s not really the way life works, at least not for me. It’s likely that I could be done now (wrestling) and not know it.

“I’d be totally fine, then the non-wrestling RVD would reap the rewards that come from the universe from reaching this stage. I don’t miss it like the other wrestlers. I’m not hungry to be in the ring.”

There's no questioning that RVD still holds value as an in-ring performer and would also offer another distinct and valuable voice backstage should he be brought into a promotion in a producing capacity. Whether that is in AEW, WWE or another promotion is still to be decided, but it seems as though 'The Whole F'n Show' and recent WWE Hall of Fame inductee is in no rush to confirm his future at this moment in time.
