By his (low) standards, a pretty good comeback from Ryback following MJF's CM Punk jab.

Former WWE wrestler Ryback has responded to being name-dropped on this week's special Winter is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite.

Ryback's name came out of MJF's mouth during a promo on rival CM Punk. The line in question saw the Dynamite Diamond Ring holder claim that Punk "having a winning streak of underwhelming matches against underwhelming opponents" didn't make him a World Title contender, but "the new Ryback."

The former WWE United States Champion caught wind of this, addressing the situation with a less-than-flattering photograph of Punk in his UFC days:-

Punk and Ryback, of course, have considerable history. Several barbs have been shot back and forth between the duo over the years, stemming primarily from Punk's infamous Art of Wrestling podcast appearance in November 2014, when he labelled Ryback the 'Steroid Guy' and claimed his alleged negligence took 20 years off his wrestling career.

Ryback responded to those accusations by denying that he purposefully injured Punk, who claimed that when he accosted 'The Big Guy' about one particularly damaging spot, Ryback conceded "I'm dumb as f*ck."

Now 40 years old, Ryback is effectively out of the wrestling business. His last documented match went down in August 2018.
