Sami Zayn thinks that WWE's NXT 2.0 rebrand "looks better" than the classic black and gold aesthetic did.

The SmackDown star told Corey Graves on the in-house 'After The Bell' podcast that he was pleasantly surprised when he tuned into the revamped show for the first time. Sami's immediate thought was: "Man, this looks great".

He also likes that the fans are elevated because "they are kind of on top of you", and believes "the energy is great".

WWE's resident kayfabe conspiracy theorist is a big fan of what's happening at his old haunt then, and he wasn't quite done gushing with praise for NXT 2.0; Zayn also said that the company now has a chance to build up fresh characters that aren't weighed down by the expectations of what NXT was five years ago.

Explaining, Sami reasoned that the show had to evolve and become something new eventually.

"If you’re the type of fan, like I am, that likes unpredictability - likes to watch character development, likes to see where things are going to line up. If that’s a part of what interests you about pro wrestling or about WWE, then I think it’s intriguing to watch for sure".

NXT 2.0 has a fan in ol' Sam Zayn.
