Sami Zayn was involved in a shouting match with a ringside fan at a WWE live event in Daytona last night after the spectator was heard using homophobic slurs during the show.

Documented and filmed for Twitter by fellow attendee @JohnBetz, the fan apparently began chanting "Canadian F*ggot" at 'The Underdog From The Underground' as he made his way to the ring, and continued doing so as Zayn walked past him. Picking up on the remarks, the former NXT Champion confronted him about it, calling him a "homophobic moron" whilst requesting security "get him out of my f*cking face".

Betz' detailed information on the incident went on to specify that the gentleman was indeed kicked out, resulting in Zayn strolling past and joking "hey, is this seat empty now, what happened?"

The entire thread on what exactly went down is very much worth the read in order to not get anything juicer mixed in with the facts of the situation, but Zayn will likely come out of this situation well - times have moved on beyond expecting wrestlers to tolerating any kind of heckling, and flagging up what is and isn't acceptable on behalf of other fans reflects positively on the talent themselves.
