Is Samoa Joe set to make his much anticipated WWE debut at the NXT Takeover Unstoppable event on May 20th? A Reddit user going by the name "falconarrow" has claimed that the current plan is for the former TNA and ROH World Champion to appear at the end of Wednesday night's show. The user also notes that 36-year-old Joe has signed a WWE deal for "at least two years". Reddit moderators spent a day trying to verify the source and it's noted that they believed he was providing legitimate information. As "falconarrow" noted, Joe's appearance at the NXT event is the plan that is locked in right now pending changes. It's WWE, so we know they could always change things, especially now that this info has been leaked. Joe's agreement to join WWE has been expected for several months now and it looked like it was just a matter of when, than if. As for Joe, he tweeted a picture of himself yesterday and he looks to be in tremendous shape. https://twitter.com/SamoaJoe/status/599280292877246464 It's no surprise that Joe would work out really hard to get ready for his WWE debut because it could potentially be the biggest moment of his career. You can tell from the photo that he's lost weight in the face and he must be training a lot. Joe's never going to be the guy with the six pack abs, but he did need to get in better shape to be in WWE. It's nice to see him putting the effort in. The timing would be right to debut Joe. With Hideo Itami out for at least six months with a shoulder injury that required surgery and Sami Zayn also likely to miss time, they need some big names in NXT. Joe would definitely fit that category. They could build up to a huge match with Joe as the babyface taking on NXT Champion Kevin Owens at the next Takeover special in a few months and it would be a big deal. Joe doesn't need to be in NXT much since he's so experienced, but if they're going to have him there for a few months they might as well do the match with Owens. Joe has some independent bookings in May, June and even early July although WWE has let guys continue to work those shows even after making their WWE debuts. He could also cancel them if he's officially in WWE.
