Per WrestleVotes, a Twitter account with a reputable recent record for breaking news stories, Sasha Banks has re-signed with WWE. Further details were not specified, though deals and contract extensions for a performer of her position and age tend to span a minimum of three years, if recent precedent remains any indication. Though specifics were not reported, the motivation behind offering the extension was: Sasha makes Bank at the merch table.

Sasha, according to WrestleVotes, will "continue to be a key part of the women's division for years to come".

To editorialise briefly, fans of 'The Boss' perhaps shouldn't get too excited by the news. Her experience alone is a boon for WWE in 2018, a criteria which could conceivably see every above-average female worker land a similar deal. The requirement to pad out the Women's Royal Rumble field saw several NXT acts promoted en masse in late 2017, whether they were equipped to wrestle on the global stage or not, a move that has thus far expanded the number of Women's wrestlers in WWE while diluting the overall quality of the division. For every excellent female performer, there is now an equivalent to a Big Cass or a Viktor. Perhaps true equality has been reached, after all.

In any event, there remains time for WWE to restore The Boss - wrestling's best heel by miles in 2015 - to former glories.
