Steve Austin is undoubtedly one of the most popular and well known wrestling superstars of all time. He hit his stride in the mid-to-late 1990s when he became the no-nonsense, hard-hitting, brash, middle finger waving, beer swilling Stone Cold character. He was the leader of the World Wrestling Federations booming Attitude Era and helped usher in a new generation of stars to carry the company into the next century. Before his time in the Federation, however, Steve Austin spent many years down South in World Championship Wrestling. It seems that, for the most part, Austin floundered during his time in WCW, as the company was unsure of what to do with him. While Austin was known under the Stunning moniker, it was undeniable that he was a superstar with loads of talent. However, when criticized about Austins lack of main event use, former WCW President Eric Bischoff stated that he didnt have the Stone Cold phenomenon, but was instead saddled with Stunning Steve -- a character that he did not feel fit WCWs plans for the future. Its arguable that if any of the following moments didnt occur, then fans would have never gotten the Stone Cold character of later years. So, while some of Steve Austins moments in WCW were less than desirable, they serve their purpose within the annals of history. Join us as we take a look at some of Steve Austins best and worst moments from his time in World Championship Wrestling.
