Last night saw Wilkes-Barre, PA play host not only to SmackDown's 900th episode and the last stop on the road to Survivor Series, but The Undertaker's long-awaited WWE return.

The Undertaker made his trademark ring entrance, then delivered a chilling message to SmackDown's superstars ahead of the PPV. Not seen since defeating Shane McMahon in Hell In A Cell at WrestleMania 32, Taker warned that "if you fail, you will have reason to fear the Deadman."

Everybody knew Taker was going to be in the house after his return was announced two weeks ago, but he pulled a couple of big surprises on the audience. Firstly, in claiming that WrestleMania would no longer define him, The Undertaker suggested that this was no part-time return. "I'm back," he said, "taking souls and digging holes," insinuating that he's set for long spell of activity ahead of 'Mania 33.

Perhaps the biggest surprise came when the cameras stopped rolling, however. With The Undertaker in the ring as SmackDown went off the air, Kane's music and pyro hit. He came out to meet his brother on the ramp, and after spending a few moments standing together on the stage, the Brothers of Destruction raised their fists and headed to the back.
