The Fiend Becomes Universal Champion At WWE Crown Jewel 2019
Seth Rollins dethroned in Saudi Arabia.
Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins in a Falls Count Anywhere match at WWE Crown Jewel to become the new Universal Champion.
Working as his once-terrifying Fiend alter ego, Wyatt survived countless stomps as well as other brutal assaults from 'The Beastslayer' to hit Sister Abigail on some concrete near the show's stage to claim the prize at 21:26.
Fought under the same red spotlight used in their Hell In A Cell encounter, the contest was at least a substantial upgrade in quality from that, not least because the organisation had been forced to promise a winner after the original debacle. Seemingly to address any fears of a repeat conclusion WWE signposted a conclusive end to the divisive programme - "The match cannot be stopped for any reason" was an unprecedented level of commitment to the finish from the company.
The match marked the second time the Universal Title has changed hands in Saudi Arabia following Brock Lesnar's victory over Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel 2018. Wyatt's victory also resulted in both major titles being held by SmackDown superstars - the company will presumably address this on an upcoming edition of the blue brand.
