Cedric Alexander has fallen down the pecking order on Monday Night Raw because Vince McMahon "gave up" on him a long time ago, per sources reporting to Wrestlingnews.co and Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The Wrestling Observer doyen noted on the show that Alexander was the subject of differing opinions between the CEO and Raw Executive Director Paul Heyman following a brief push in 2019. Alexander worked a series of matches against AJ Styles last autumn but lost them all, in what has since proven to be an example of the push and pull between the two head honchos on the former company flagship.

The former Cruiserweight Champion lost to Angel Garza on Monday's edition of Raw, despite the newcomer being trapped in a brawl with rival Humberto Carillo before the bell. This speaks more to McMahon's intentions to downscale the star, and speculatively, Heyman's willingness not to die on this particular hill.

The Wrestlingnews.co source also commented that Heyman was able to get "some ideas" over to McMahon, but Alexander has obviously not been one of them. As per, everything can change in a New York minute, but don't pin your hopes on a WrestleMania match for him anytime soon.
