WWE's backstage turmoil continued last week, with Ryan Callahan (one of Monday Night Raw's lead writers) becoming the latest creative team member to split from the company.

Fightful Select broke the news last night, and the site followed up by posting the full writeup on their free-to-view site later in the day, noting that Callahan had been sacked for clashing with Dave Kapoor - WWE's Senior Vice President of Creative.

Per Fightful, the firing had nothing to do with ratings or viewership. Kapoor, who used to play Ranjin Singh on television, felt like Callahan was hard to work with and took creative changes too personally, thus setting a poor example to the rest of the writing team. This led to his dismissal on Thursday, 2 May.

Callahan was part of WWE's "home" creative team, meaning that he didn't travel to shows. He had previously worked on shows like The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Monster In Laws, and had been with the promotion since 2016.

Recent months have brought wide-scale upheaval in WWE's creative department, with Road Dogg, Robert Evans, Dave Schilling, and Kazeem Famuyide all moving on. Don't bet on Callahan's dismissal being the last, given this pattern.
