WWE has announced that The Undertaker will finally be inducted into the Hall Of Fame this year.

The company tweeted out news that the legend is set to head up 2022's class shortly before WrestleMania 38 happens on 2-3 April. This is something that many industry critics and insiders had predicted ahead of time; inducting 'Taker when 'Mania is in Texas makes perfect sense, after all.

'The Deadman' ended his 30-year run as an active WWE star in 2020, but his "farewell" at Survivor Series that year didn't take place in front of a live crowd. WWE still had to follow global restrictions due to COVID at the time, and that meant one of their most iconic characters unthinkably bowed out in front of the ThunderDome instead of an emotional live audience.

Nobody was truly satisfied by that.

Now, at the 2022 Hall Of Fame ceremony, 'Taker has the chance to say goodbye properly. His announcement is already one that WWE will find it hard to top - who else could they reveal for the HOF that's bigger than The Undertaker?!

Bring on that acceptance speech.
